The SMWBe2camp half-day 'unseminar' will take place on Monday 1 February 2010 in the basement event facility at Hodge Jones & Allen in London (HJA, 180 North Gower Street, London NW1 2NB).

This event is being sponsored by Reorb, the professional networking website dedicated to commercial real estate, with support from the Associates Group. The event is focused mainly (but not exclusively) on use of Web 2.0 tools and techniques in the property and real estate sector.

Social Media Week was inau­gu­rated in Feb­ru­ary 2009 in New York, and in 2010 is extending to include San Fran­cisco, Lon­don, Berlin, Toronto and São Paulo, Brazil. The goal is to: “explore the pro­found impact that social media has on cul­ture, busi­ness com­mu­ni­ca­tions and soci­ety at large … and to cre­ate a global plat­form for con­ver­sa­tion, con­nec­tiv­ity and learn­ing”. It therefore seemed logical to hold a Be2camp event in London, and within our focus on the built environment we opted to theme this 'unseminar' to look at Web 2.0 for property people.

The running order of the day is now pretty much sorted:

• Buffet lunch
• Four main speakers - mainly focused on use of social media by property professionals
• Refreshments break
• Quick-fire presentation session, "Pecha Kucha", where we invite contributions (20 slides, 20 seconds each) on any topic related to social media and/or the general area of built environment (architecture, engineering and construction, etc). So far we have six presenters for this.
• Post-event networking - pay bar available in the venue.

(Note, this venue doesn't - yet - have wifi, so bring your mobile phones, 3G dongles, Mifi, etc.)

So, what are you waiting for? In one afternoon, you will get ten presentations, plus lots of conversation and networking with people interested in social media and/or property/real estate. And did I mention that it is free?!
